Hammers Furniture and Flooring had it’s beginning back in 1962. Hammers New and Used, as it was called back then was started by Loren and Evelyn Hammer and was located in a corner building next to Johnson Hardware in downtown Windom. In the beginning the store only handled used clothing and used furniture.

As the business expanded to include new furniture and flooring, it became necessary to find a bigger location and it was decided to build a new building a few miles south of Windom on highway 71. That location was opened in September of 1973. The business still included used clothing, but primarily sold furniture, flooring, bedding and accessories.

Eventually it became necessary to move the business back into the downtown area and after a few location changes found a permanent address  at 327 9th St, where they are located today. The business was purchased by it’s current owners, David and Sheryl (Hammer) Eyberg in January of 1996.
