The Triple Fresh Mission Statement We will strive to be the top fresh food retailer and caterer in our industry. Our emphasis will be on serving the freshest food while providing outstanding customer service. We will operate in a clean and well maintained environment. Our staff will be well trained, neatly uniformed and well informed. Our focus will always lie in ensuring our customers are completely satisfied with the quality of product, level of service and overall shopping experience. In eighteen sixty-three, outside of a small steel town in southeastern Pennsylvania, William and Lukens Webster opened a general store on the corner of their family farm. The store sat at the intersection of two horse trails in the quaint village of Ercildoun, Pa. In those early days, farmers and local residents could stop in and buy bulk foods, meats, clothing, Model T parts and buggy whips. In 1903 William sold the store and the family farm to his sons Horace and Warren. By 1910 it became difficult for the brothers to work together and so Horace took the farm and Warren the store. Throughout the Great Depression Warren never turned a customer away, allowing his patrons to pay as little as a penny week on some long standing customer accounts. In 1953 Warren sold the local landmark, now a 90 year fixture, to his eldest son, Lloyd. Lloyd Webster and his wife, June, continued running the family business for the next 35 years. In 1987 Jim Petro and his father purchased Webster’s Store from Lloyd and June. Jim and his family were eager to continue the family and community traditions long upheld by the Webster family. In December of 2000 the newly named Triple Fresh Market opened its doors on a renovated and expanded store. The 5,800 square foot addition allows for easier customer flow, an expanded menu and greater grocery options. The store, which still stands on the original spot that it opened almost 150 years ago, continues to service East Fallowfield and the surrounding communities with only the freshest meats, finest produce and the best sandwiches Chester County has to offer. |
