Anderson & Co. finds its origins in the 1914 practice of the late Judge Bothwell. Judge Bothwell was followed by George Roth and the late Judge MacLelland. The firm has evolved from those early days into an 8 lawyer practice, whose former members include 3 Queen’s Bench/Superior Court Judges (the latest being Madam J. Ryan-Froslie appointed to the Queen’s Bench in 2000 and Mr. Justice Timothy J. Keene, appointed to the Queen’s Bench in 2009), a provincial court magistrate, and two lawyers having attained Queen’s Counsel designation.

The firm is the largest law firm in the City of Swift Current, and a leader in agricultural law in the Province. In addition to the 8 lawyers, the firm has 20 secretaries/paralegals, divided into working groups focusing on real estate, corporate, and estate work respectively, as well as numerous personal secretaries/assistants.

We have always considered our office to “hit above its weight ” and our firm’s numbers in terms of the use of provincial registries bear this out. When last checked Anderson & Company ranked as follows:

ISC (land titles) usage: #1 for rural firms and #10 (out of 300 law firms in total)

Corporations Branch (Sask Justice) usage: #6 province wide

The firm moved into its present Swift Current office in 2002.  The previous structure was completely gutted and entirely renovated.  The year that we moved into our new office, we became the proud winner of the Swift Current Chamber of Commerce’s “Property Appearance“ award.
