Denese Espeut-Post offers each of her clients 18 years of legal experience and professional training in a reassuring and informative environment. She strives to ensure client confidence in the legal matter being handled and the manner in which it is handled. Denese received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Manitoba in 1997 and her Bachelor of Laws from the University of Alberta in July 2000. She was called to the Alberta Bar in July 2001 and the British Columbia Bar in June 2009. Denese began her legal career with the Federal Department of Justice where she gained extensive experience as a criminal litigator. She consistently and successfully assumed responsibility for several complex litigation matters. She has appeared in all levels of court in Alberta, provided training to police officers and federal investigators and mentored junior lawyers. Denese previously instructed law related courses for the wine industry at Okanagan College.
Denese is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, Canadian Bar Association, BC Branch (executive committee table officer, Yale Country Provincial Council representative, judicial advisory committee member), Penticton and District Bar Association, Summerland Rotary Club (past President), Summerland Cultural Plan Task Force (Chair), Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and the Canadian Institute of Management. She is also a public member of the BC College of Social Workers appointed by the provincial government, a member of the Holy Cross School Council (Penticton), past director of the Edmonton Humane Society’s Board of Directors.
Denese is also the proud sponsor of Taylor Arkestyn (Miss Summerland 2013-2014), Sarah Gottwald (Miss Summerland 2016-2017), Chloe Knowles (Miss Summerland 2017-2018) and Olivia Corps (Miss Avery Law Office 2017-2018) in the Summerland Blossom Pageant. She has also sponsored multiple students as part of Summerland and Princeton Secondary Schools’ Career and Vocational Training program.
Denese has also obtained Certified in Management and Professional Manager designations from the Canadian Institute of Management and Certified as a Trusts and Estates Practitioner with the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners.
Denese was the recipient of the Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners High Mark Award in Estate Administration for 2016, Summerland’s Business Excellence in Professional Services award in 2015 and a finalist for the same award in 2013. She was also the recipient of the Public Prosecutions Merit Award in 2008. Denese was nominated for a RBC Women of Excellence award in 2014.
