Our Wellness recommendations include:
Pets are genetically designed to mask signs of illness, so annual examinations and blood tests can be very important in diagnosing illness early. Internal MedicineWe cover all areas of internal medicine, including:
Laser TherapyLaser Therapy can relieve pain, reduce swelling and increase range of motion. Often the pet will exhibit renewed energy and freedom of movement after experiencing laser therapy. The typical treatment is 3 to 8 minutes, depending on the size of the area being treated. Laser Therapy is the use of specific wavelengths of light (red and infrared) to create therapeutic effects. These effects include improved healing time, pain reduction, increased circulation and decreased swelling. The number of treatments necessary will depend on the condition being treated and your doctor will make appropriate recommendations. _____________________________________________ Laser SurgeryLasers are a minimally invasive alternative to traditional surgery. Our laser can replace scalpels in many procedures such as tumor/wart/cyst removal, spay, neuter, cystotomy, and cat declawing. Laser procedures result in less pain, bleeding, and swelling, because the laser cauterizes the blood vessels and seals the nerve endings. Laser surgery can provide less post-operative discomfort and reduce the risk of infection. MicrochippingMicrochips have helped reunite thousands of pets with their families. We offer the most widely used microchip products to increase the chances of a safe recovery. Nutritional CounselingSome pets require special food, and all pets benefit from a balanced diet. We carry Hill's Science Diet Prescription Foods along with a complete line of non-prescription foods. Our trained and certified staff is available to help you choose the right diet for your pet to keep him or her happy, healthy and active. We know that recognizing and alleviating pain in animals is the essence of good patient care. RadiologyRadiology – or X-rays – help our veterinarians evaluate muscles and bones, heart and lungs, stomach and intestinal tract, and reproductive and urinary systems. We recently acquired digital x-ray capability. This new service gives us a high-quality visual tool to diagnose your pet quickly with the cutting-edge technology available to us. We also have the ability to send your digital x-rays to a referral specialist electronically to get additional health services quickly. We offer PennHip and OFA x-rays for pre-breeding screens or for hip/elbow dysplasia. Dr. Keller is the only Certified Penn Hip Specialist in the area to offer this service.
