COMMUNITY BANK OF MISSOURI was founded in May 2001, in an effort to bring unparalleled banking excellence to the Richmond area. It began with two local businessmen, Gary Arnette and Gregg Steele, who identified the need for a financial institution based in the community. After talking to local bankers D. R. and Stephanie Landwehr, the vision for Community Bank of Missouri was born.

D.R., as President and CEO of the bank and Stephanie, as Executive Vice President and COO, have put together a team of experts who helped turn the vision into reality. Thurza Falls, a veteran of the Richmond community banking scene is Executive Vice President and Cashier of the bank. Brad Hogan joined the team after years in the mortgage lending arena of North Kansas City and serves as Senior Vice President. Rounding out the management team is Amy Deitch who is Vice President and is in charge of Information Technology for the bank. Together, these five officers bring invaluable experience and customer-oriented community banking skills to their clients.

In 2004 the vision was extended to include the Excelsior Springs community.  A full service bank is located at 1400 Hospital Drive in Excelsior Springs.
