As a young man Joe Mazzotta's father wanted him to be a doctor. He went to medical school and then law school as his mother wished, only to realize that what he wanted was to be a businessman. Joe went to business school and became a great success in the insurance industry that he is known for today.

Working for Nationwide Insurance, Joe became their top sales representative three years in a row and even had his picture in Life Magazine as one of the top insurance sales representitives in the country. As time passed, Joe became concerned that the industry was not telling people they had insurance choices and knew the only way he could talk to people one on one about what was best for each individual, see them again, and save them money, was to open his own agency.  

Joe always dreamed of having a son who would learn the insurance business. His dream came true and his son Rich has taken to the business like a duck to water, following Joe's traditions of fair, ethical and customer focused service. Joe taught Rich the old school way of treating customers and taught Rich how to serve the client, not the company. He learned it well. At the age of 21, he began his career in insurance. He is 36 now, married and the proud father of 2 children of his own.

When technology began to run the world, Joe insisted that his clients were treated with respect and continued to insist that they enjoy human communications in his business. Well known for years of good service and generous advice, people knew when they bought insurance through Mazzotta Insurance, they just got lucky. Joe is proud of the way Rich was able to be more resourceful with the help of computers which made the company run better and gave them more time to spend with clients. This being said, Joe was not completely comfortable with computers and didn't trust the technology whole-heartedly. To this day Joe still insists on hard copies no matter how many times Rich confirms that they are just as safe in the computer. As Joe says, "Files don't go down, computers do. No client is going to hear, "The computers are down" when they call my office." When Joe was told that people are buying car insurance on the Internet, he was shocked and worried. He thinks the whole idea of getting legal documents authorized online is preposterous. So, as Rich is downloading client information Joe is making sure there is a back up and a hard copy
