Doula- Female Servant

What is a Doula you ask? A Doula is a nonmedical person who assists a woman before, during and after childbirth- as well as her partner and or family by providing information, phyical assistance and emotional support throughout. A professional labour coach who instills calm and confidence to the labouring mother and acts as an advocate for her wishes and birth plan.
We as Doulas do not take over the active space and role of a loved one, but merely bring all hearts and minds together to embrace the moment as one.

My name is Sarah, and I am a 31 yr old mother of 4 beautiful and vibrant young children ​. I am lucky to have my extremely supportive husband by my side, who has been my rock since we met.

I began my Doula journey in late 2012 after realizing my passion for motherhood in its entirety. I am currently certifying as a Birth Doula through HALO, in the Grey Bruce area of Ontario. I've spent the last 11yrs serving my country well in the Canadian Forces, as a medic. I have provided aid in countless clinics/hospitals, in adverse field environments and have served a tour of duty in Afghanistan. My passion will continue to stem from aiding people around me to any degree necessary. Is it part of my inner core to be there for people when they call.

During the 3rd trimester of my pregnancy I knew I wanted more for my final birth. I wanted to be consumed with the grace and empowerment that women around the world- since the dawn of time have invoked. I started my journey as a doula there and grew with knowledge and power and in turn changed around my birth wish to fit my personal needs. I had a gentle home water birth in Feb of this year with 2 midwives and a doula present along side my husband and daughter. I became empowered by my own birth and hope to provide all mothers with their best birth story!

I would be honoured to be welcomed into your sacred space. It is my intent to help provide a safe and empowered birth for the labouring mother by enabling her to take hold of her birth, her way.
