Girio Agency Inc. was founded by Arthur Girio in 1956 to provide real estate and insurance services in Central Pennsylvania. Girio Agency is the oldest real estate firm in Lycoming County and has been operated by three generations of the Girio family. Since its founding, the agency has expanded and now provides appraisal services, real estate consulting services and property management.

The Girio family also owns and operates the Girio Properties Company and Georgetown Manor Inc., which provide residential apartments and commercial office space to its customers. The latest companies to join the Girio Family of businesses are the Girio Referral Agency and Professional Career Learning Academy (PCLA), Inc. PCLA is a real estate school offering the best in real estate and appraisal education, using only the most experienced instructors.

In 2015, to better serve the needs of our diverse clientele, The Girio Agency acquired Real Estate Excel from the Barger Family. The Barger family has a similar history, operating Real Estate Excel, A Barger Realty Company for 25 years. Throughout those years, they expanded to provide additional services to their clients and customers with Excelsior Auction Services, Excel Property Management and Executive Referral Companies. With this new venture for Real Estate Excel and expansion of the Girio family businesses, Real Estate Excel, A Girio Realty Company was formed.
