About Marshall Services

In 1945, Bob and Josie Marshall moved from Philadelphia to a farm on Kinsey Road, in Lower Salford Township. Bob started a roofing and sheet metal fabrication company. He named the company R. Marshall. He continued to grow his new company as a roofing and sheet metal fabricator until 1960. Bob then added fuel oil delivery.

In 1964, a new 500,000 gallon fuel oil storage tank was constructed.  Bob focused more of his energy on growing the oil delivery and oil heat service business.  As oil prices sky rocketed in the 1970s, Bob considered how he could grow his business and save his customers money on their fuel bills. It was then that what we now know as pre-paid oil was born. Since 1973, our customers have saved millions of dollars on their energy costs thanks to Bob and his pre-pay oil program.

The 3^rd generation became part of the company in 1995.  As new technologies became available, we added service and installation of heat pumps and gas heating equipment.  More dramatic changes occurred in the 2000s.  Fuel oil price protection programs were offered on a monthly payment plan and lowest price protection became a popular tool for our customers. This protection guaranteed our customers always paid the lowest price for fuel.
