Smoke Detectors & Fire Protection
Voxcom Smoke Detectors are life safety devices that send a signal to the Emergency Response Centre when smoke is detected. You and the fire department will be contacted immediately. We'll hear your smoke alarm even when you're not home.
Carbon Monoxide Sensors
When high level of carbon monoxide from a faulty furnace or other appliance have been detected in the home, the Emergency Response Centre receives a signal and immediately cotacts you. The authorities can also be dispatched when necessary.
Temperature Sensors
Temperature sensors are placed in strategic areas to detect high and/or low temperatures. When extreme falling or rising temperatures are sensed, the system sends a signal to the Emergency Response Centre. We can warn you before freezing or extreme heat causes extensive damage to your house, cottage or special heated or cooled areas of your home.
Heat Sensors
There are some places a smoke detector should not be installed, but protection from fire is still needed.
These places include:
Laundry Rooms-Laundry fires are flash type fires which are hot with very little smoke.
Kitchen-Grease fires, stove and oven fires are also hot with very little smoke.
Garage-Smoke detectors are not allowed here.
Furnace Room-People generally store paint and other accelerants in these areas. Hot fires with little smoke may result.
Storage Room-Either heat or smoke can be used here, but heat sensors are less costly to install.
Low Temp Sensors
Low temperature and environmental sensors can be installed to manage areas such as wine cellars, freezers and in unoccupied homes. In winter, early notification of a lower than normal temperature may help prevent burst water pipes and save you the expensive repair costs.
Flood Sensors
Flood sensors allow for early notification of an impending flood such as a burst pipe, flooding from heavy rain or sewer back up. Flood sensors are installed in areas where flood occur such as the laundry room, kitchen, near a water heater or sump pump. The system sends a signal when rising water or overflowing is sensed allowing you to take action before expensive damage can be done.
