Amy was raised on a large grain farm outside Peace River, Alberta. She studied agriculture at the University of Alberta and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree (with distinction) in 1988. She earned her Bachelor of Laws Degree in 1991 and received her call to the Bar in 1992. She practiced law in Calgary for a number of years focusing on commercial litigation, particularly in the oil and gas industry.
In 2001 Amy returned home to Peace River and joined Simpson, Thietke & Associates. She remained with that firm until the end of 2012, with the exception of her one year experience in the Town of Peace River Development and Planning Department. On January 7, 2013 she proudly opened her own firm in Peace River.
Amy is a Director of the Peace River & District Chamber of Commerce, a board member of the Peace River & District Health Foundation, a member of the Law Society of Alberta, and a member of the Canadian Bar Association.
Amy operates a general practice with particular focus on real estate, corporate, commercial, financings, wills & estates, commercial litigation and family law. Her client base ranges from industrial clients operating province wide to family farms and from young couples purchasing their first home to seniors residing in the local lodge. She takes pride in extending friendly, professional, courteous and quality service to each of them.
