American Trust believes in the future, because for one hundred years our company has invested our lives and resources in the communities we serve. American Trust believes in giving back to help move our communities forward. The history of American Trust & Saving Bank began more than a century ago when several Dubuque business people obtained a charter for the German American Savings Bank. Nicholas J. Schrup, one of the founding fathers, became the first president. The bank’s name was changed during WWI to American Trust & Savings Bank. Of the seven banks established in Dubuque, American Trust is one of only two banks to survive the Great Depression. Trust is everything at American Trust. Generations of families and businesses trust us to be here when we’re needed. American Trust literally was built by families to serve families. Through the decades the Schrup family has made it their highest priority to lend money to families and businesses to help them achieve their goals for success. From our first office on Main Street to ten offices serving four communities, American Trust has maintained a tradition of support for our local communities. Working in partnership with outstanding civic and nonprofit organizations, we have maximized our resources for the benefit of those communities. American Trust delivers the financial resources clients need to bank at the speed of life. From personal advice to seminars, online tools to mobile banking, our clients find it at American Trust. We offer innovative products and services with the highest level of professional integrity. American Trust’s Financial Management Group, with assets under management exceeding $2.39 billion, is one of the largest independent Iowa-based trust operations offering wealth management, retirement, investment, and brokerage services. Since 1911, American Trust has met Dubuque’s needs through sound banking, conscientious employment, and philanthropic endeavors. |
